Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
The Children’s Brain Tumor Network (CBTN) drives innovative discovery and pioneers new treatments for children with brain tumors. The Center for Data Driven Discovery in Biomedicine (D3b) at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) functions as CBTN's Operations Center.
"At the Children’s Brain Tumor Network (CBTN) we are committed to uncovering cures for childhood brain and spinal cord tumors by supporting scientific discovery. Through our work with the Kids First Data Resource Center, we are able to combine CBTN data with that from over 35 different studies covering over 5,000 patients into AWS HealthLake to act as ground truth for interoperable data and enable our researchers to derive critical insights from increasingly diverse information. Technology like AWS HealthLake holds significant potential for enabling the large-scale patient cohort identification that is necessary for us to help accelerate the pace of research across our network."
MEDHOST
MEDHOST provides products and services to healthcare facilities of all types and sizes.
"The vast majority of MEDHOST’s more than 1,000 healthcare facility customers want to develop solutions to comply with the 21st Century Cures Act or build dashboards and advanced analytics to improve patient care, but that is difficult and time-consuming today. With AWS HealthLake, we can better serve our customers by creating a compliant [Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources] FHIR data store in weeks with integrated natural language processing and analytics to improve hospital operational efficiency and provide better patient care."
Rush University Medical Center
Rush University Medical Center is an academic medical center leading the way in developing innovative and often life-saving treatments.
"AWS HealthLake was an integral part of our COVID-19 response, enabling us to quickly store disparate data from across Chicago's hospitals in FHIR format in order to gain better insights in to the care of COVID-19 patients. HealthLake’s integrated natural language processing extracted information such as medication, diagnosis, and previous conditions from doctors’ clinical notes and enriched patient records, providing our researchers additional data points for analytics and predictions. With the HealthLake API, we created a mobile app to provide insights into care gaps across Chicago’s hospitals. AWS HealthLake enables us to get insights and drive decisions faster to better serve the Chicago community."
Greenway Health
Greenway Health is a leading provider of healthcare software solutions and services built for ambulatory practices. It aims to empower providers with user-friendly technology in electronic health records, practice management, and revenue cycle management.
"Using AWS HealthLake, we are providing advanced security compared with how apps were integrating before. The whole FHIR system greatly advances the provider’s control over how they access their data versus our legacy system. The provider is empowered with the ability to control what data is being accessed at a much more granular level."
